The following message was received today from SDOT:
“Regarding: 55th Pl. closure begins tomorrow
As you may have noticed, construction on the Seattle Department of Transportation’s safety improvement project at 3rd Avenue NW and NW 56th Street began today.
In order to limit vehicle traffic through the construction zone, 55th Place between NW 55th Street and 3rd Avenue NW will also be fully closed to traffic beginning as early as tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16. This closure will be in place 24-hours a day for five to six weeks.
As we previously announced, the east side of the intersection of NW 56th Street at 3rd Avenue NW will be closed starting this week, continuing for approximately three weeks.
Local access will be maintained at all times during both closures. People walking and biking will be routed around the closures; please obey all signage.
Thank you for your patience during construction. Please call 206-615-0925 or email NSF@seattle.gov if you have any questions.
