In case you needed another reason to attend the Ballard District Council meeting on March 9th at 7:00 pm, West Woodland neighbor Susan Barth is working on a proposal that would create an off-leash dog area at Gilman Park.

For neighbors who live in the heart of Ballard, walking to a dog park means a round trip of several miles to either Golden Gardens or Lower Woodland Park.  Susan wants to change this by partnering with neighbors, businesses and dog-owners who see the advantage of a centralized pooch play area right here in Ballard.

Susan shared that neighbors can show their support for a Gilman Park off-leash dog area by attending the Ballard District Council meeting on March 9th.  You can also write letters of support and email them to  Let’s help Susan create something wonderful that we can share together, with our dogs & families, for years to come.
