In case you needed another reason to attend the Ballard District Council meeting on March 9th at 7:00 pm, West Woodland neighbor Susan Barth is working on a proposal that would create an off-leash dog area at Gilman Park.

For neighbors who live in the heart of Ballard, walking to a dog park means a round trip of several miles to either Golden Gardens or Lower Woodland Park.  Susan wants to change this by partnering with neighbors, businesses and dog-owners who see the advantage of a centralized pooch play area right here in Ballard.

Susan shared that neighbors can show their support for a Gilman Park off-leash dog area by attending the Ballard District Council meeting on March 9th.  You can also write letters of support and email them to dogparkatgilmanpark@gmail.com.  Let’s help Susan create something wonderful that we can share together, with our dogs & families, for years to come.
