Next Tuesday is Ballard’s popular celebration of Syttende Mai [Soot-n-duh My] 17th of May Festival for Norway Constitution Day. Syttende Mai has been celebrated in Ballard since 1889, and the annual event is one of the largest 17th of May celebrations outside of Norway.

Free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy Barneleker children’s events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Complimentary shuttle from the museum to Ballard’s core, noon to 5 p.m.
Bergen Place, 5420 22nd Avenue
Enjoy Live Entertainment from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Syttende Mai Parade
Begins at 6 p.m. and travels from 24th Avenue NW and NW 62nd Street to NW Market Street, then onto Ballard Avenue NW to NW Ione Place.
