The folks at Bringing In Ballard event series announced their next community event and this one encourages locals to get into the garden. Event is happening on July 8th, at the Sunset Hills Community Club. Check out the information below from Bringing In Ballard:

As Ballard is growing and changing quickly neighbors are taking an active role in nurturing community. Bringing in Ballard Friday night socials are fun, friendly, enlightening events designed for old-timers and newcomers alike. There’s always music, a potluck, crafts for kids, collections for the Ballard Food Bank, and more.

The next Bringing in Ballard event is Growing Ballard: All Things Garden, slated for Friday, July 8 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at the Sunset Hill Community Association, 3003 NW 66 th St. in Ballard. Participant Abundant Greens Farm will provide enough starts so that everyone can go home with a plant. Swanson’s is donating seeds for a seed bomb craft project—fun for kids and grown-ups alike. City Fruits and others will be there with gardening resources and tips.

The Happy Totals will entertain with their upbeat combo of guitar, piano, harmonica and voice. Cinquegranelli Montessori School will sing garden songs with the kids. The event is free, but participants are asked to bring something for the garden-fresh potluck, along with canned or packaged food for the Ballard Food Bank.
