POPULUXE BREWING RELEASES FRESH HOP BEERS WITH A SPIN

Join your neighbors at Populuxe Brewing, 826B NW 49th Street, on Saturday, October 8, 2016 for their ‘Fresh Hops & Pop’ event.  The brewery team will release three new fresh hop beers starting at noon. The menu includes Citra pale Ale, Mosaic IPA, and Sim City Simcoe DIPA.

1) Fresh Hop Citra Pale Ale
Bright and citrusy with a clean, dry finish. Pale Ale malt and a touch of wheat and oats to balance the massive hop additions with a light maltyness. Crisp, refreshing and with a ton of fresh hop flavor. 5.6% ABV.

2) Fresh Hop Mosaic IPA
We utilized an extremely light malt bill and built a fresh hop ale on top of clean German Heidelberg malt and spicy rye to work in harmony with the light tropical tones of Mosaic to create something truly unique. 7.2% ABV.

3) Fresh Hop Sim City Simcoe DIPA
100% Simcoe hops throughout the boil plus 100% Washington grown malt. Sim City DIPA has been a hit at Populuxe since it was introduced and this fresh hop version does not dissappoint. Big, fruity and packed with fresh hop flavor. Slightly sweet but with enough bitterness to be deceptively drinkable. 8.2% ABV.

Then at  6 PM, local legends Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks, The Young Fresh Fellows, Thee Sgt Major 3, etc etc) and Jim Sangster (The Young Fresh Fellows, TRIPWIRES, Picketts, etc.) will be spinning 45’s both Classic and Not So Much!

R&B Raunch, Solid Soul Senders, Saucy Surf, Crunchy Garage, Loud Sounds both Rock AND Roll, and perhaps a dose of Classic Punkers! Music that pairs well with beer presented with panache and verve from well patina’d seven inch platters that matter!

Nosh on Hot Dogs & Ice-Cream!

Chavoya’s Hot Dogs will be serving up franks and Balleywood Creamery will have specialty ice creams including Fresh Hop ice cream.
