Halloween Events In The Neighborhood & Nearby

Here comes the candy!  Living in West Woodland, Ballard means easy access to several family-friendly Halloween events. From church groups to small business communities, here’s a list of spooktacular Halloween happenings in or nearby the neighborhood that are sure to please your costumed cuties.

Trunk or Treat in the neighborhood!  Quest Church, located in the SW corner of West Woodland, Ballard is hosting a Fall Festival, sure to be fun for the whole family!  Treats for the little ones, free chili dinner, carnival games and MORE!  This event is FREE and all neighbors are welcome!

The church is also hosting a donation drive benefiting The Bridge Care Center.  If you would like to participate, bring warm clothes (socks, sweaters, jackets, shoes, sleeping bags, etc. to the event!

pumpkin-bash-headerPumpkin Bash Featuring BOOMazium at Woodland Park Zoo

Pumpkins for the animals, trick-or-treating, and more are in store for little goblins and ghosts at Woodland Park Zoo’s family-friendly Pumpkin Bash.

Zoomazium will be transformed into a Halloween-themed Boomazium where not-so-scary storytelling, costumed puppet shows, games and more are sure to delight young guests. The littlest of cubs can also enjoy the toddler hay maze located in Zoomazium’s backyard.

Parent Tip:  Avoid the long lines at the gate by purchasing your tickets online HERE.

Calling all children 12 and under! You’re invited to participate in Ballard’s popular Halloween tradition: Trick or Treat in Old Ballard! On Monday, October 31st, from 4 to 6 pm, come to downtown Ballard and collect treats from participating merchants.

Date:  October 31, 2016
Time:  4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Location:  Downtown Ballard, look for signs posted in windows of participating retailers.
Cost:  Free

Kids put on your costume and grab an adult by the hand for a stroll through Fremont on Halloween day!  Little ones will be able trick-or-treat at nearly 150 businesses in the Fremont neighborhood on Monday, October 31! Hunger Goblin Trick or Treat in Phinney Ridge & Greenwood!

Costumed children are welcome to trick or treat at participating businesses, particularly children wearing “Hunger Goblin” stickers.  Get a sticker by donating either a can of food or $2 for a local food bank at various donation stations along Phinney and Greenwood Avenues during the event OR at the Phinney Umpqua Bank, 7120 Greenwood, the week before.  Click HERE for more information.

Trunk or Treat at Calvary Ballard

Calvary Ballard is hosting Halloween fun for everyone on Monday, October 31 from 6PM – 8PM. Come by for kids activities and candy as far as the eye can see.

Halloween at the Jolly Roger Taproom

jolly-rogerOne great Halloween party, two fun events! Join your neighbors on Sunday, October 30th for the Jolly Roger Pumpkin Carving and Costume Contests!

$1 off all pints from 4PM to close, and kids 12 and under in costume eat for FREE from a selected menu.

Judging for kids costumes starts at 7PM, followed by the adult costume contest. Grand prize for the adult contest is $100 CASH!

Call or stop by the taproom to reserve your pumpkin for the carving contest: you bring your own carving tools, we’ll provide the pumpkins (and band-aids)! Halloween Carnival at Loyal Heights Community Center

Join your Ballard neighbors for a fright fest of activities, games, and challenges. Dress in costume and remember to bring a bag for your goodies. Festivities include carnival games, a cupcake walk, mini pumpkin decorating, face painting and arts and crafts. We will have the exciting inflated Castle Maze, and an 18 foot inflatable slide!

This year we will be selling all beef hot-dogs and water for those hungry parents, each are $1.00.

Proceeds from tickets support programs at the Loyal Heights Community Center. Tickets are .50 each or unlimited bracelets for $12.
