Updated: February 3, 2017 to include site plans.
We now know what the new Ballard Blocks II might look like. From Clark Design Group PLLC:
“Clark Design Group designed this new 458,000 sf commercial center to complement Ballard Blocks I, which is located just across the street. The project contains 200,000 sf of office and 66,000 sf of retail space.
The design includes two adjacent buildings with ground floor retail and office above, two levels of underground parking totaling 550 stalls, on-site passenger drop off and an outdoor, street level plaza. Designed to obtain LEED-CS 2.0 Gold Certification, Ballard Blocks 2 includes a 12,000 sf vegetated roof, 40% reduction in water usage, and a high-efficiency HVAC system.
The project includes a number of street improvements including large sidewalks, new street lighting, undergrounding of power lines, improved street parking, and new street trees and plants.”

Before this lot was turned into a giant pit (ie: Lake Ballard) it was once home to several commercial and industrial businesses. The community is excited to see this location developed and back in use!
The property also borders a portion of Ballard’s ‘Missing Link’ pedestrian and bicycle route. Please plan on attending the Friday, January 27, 2017 ‘Missing Link’ meeting and advocate for safer pedestrian access at this location.
