Ballard Locks Commemoration Ceremony Includes Navy Jet Flyover

It’s going to get noisy in the neighborhood on July 4th, and not just because of fireworks. At 10:00 am two Navy jets will flyover Ballard as part of the ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of the official opening of the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks.

From NAS Whidbey Public Affairs:

NAVY growler - Ballard - West Woodland“Two U.S. Navy EA-18G Growlers from Electronic Attack Squadron 138, the Yellow Jackets, from Naval Air Station Whidbey, are scheduled to fly over the Locks at 10:04 a.m., as part of the ceremony. During the July 4, 1917 ceremony, one of the earliest Boeing airplanes, a biplane, circled overhead.”

In short… it’s going to get LOUD neighbors!
