The West Woodland neighborhood scored a major victory at Wednesday’s Ballard District Council meeting.
On the agenda, TWO public works projects that would enhance our neighborhood’s safety & livability. Both voted to move to the next round of reviews by the Council.
1. Off-Leash Dog Area at Gilman Park: Proposal created by Susan Barth would provide dog owners much needed pooch play space right here in the heart of Ballard. Currently, dog owners must commute to Golden Gardens or Lower Woodland Park. Read more here: http://wp.me/p5JLfD-XT
2. Safety Enhancements at 6th Ave NW & NW 65th Street: Proposal created by Chris Saleeba of Ballard Greenways would create a safe crossing on the future 6th Ave NW Greenway, at NW 65th. Currently there is NO safe way to cross at this location. Read more here:http://wp.me/p5JLfD-Xo
Seattle Department of Transportation, City Neighborhood Council, and Ballard District Council will all have a chance to review the proposals in the coming months. As the projects progress, I will continue to update the neighborhood. Stay Tuned!
